Composing language is at the heart of writing and oral language development at any age. Children compose language when they are making picture books, reading the pictures of an unfamiliar picture book and when they engage in dramatic play. The process of composing language in each area is similar, yet slightly different. In this session, we will explore how children compose language in each area and how we can use their language level in one area to lift their language in another.
